Sample of a "Abfohlmeldung"

For all incoming “Deckscheine” of the covering in the year the owner of the mares will be sent the notification of foaling beginning of the following year.
This notification is the basis for the issuing of the horse passport (“Equidenpass” ) and has to be filled out accurately and completely.
After the birth of the foal please note the following:

1. Indicate the birth of the foal within 3 months by sending the filled out and signed “Abfohlmeldung”.
Declare your foal preferably immediately after the birth so that you will not miss any deadlines! In the case of exceeding the deadline a chargeable verification of the pedigree will be ruled
(§ 79.1 of our statutes).

2. The “Abfohlmeldung” must include at least the following information:

a.   Name and registration number of the mother
b.   Name and registration number of the father
c.   Name and address of the owner of the mare
d.   Name and address of the breeder (= owner of the mare at the date of the covering)
     - if different from c.
e.   Date of birth of the foal
f.    Sex of the foal
g.   Main colour of the foal
h.   If applicable details regarding a still born foal or if the foal dies shortly after birth
i.    Signature of the owner of the mare

3. Please completely fill out and sign the “Abfohlmeldung” legibly because otherwise the registration can not be made.

4. Tick on the “Abfohlmeldung” if you want to show your foal at the early, main or late event. The dates will be published in the “Pferdeforum” and here in Dates.
Additionally please indicate the place of presentation where your foal shall be registered.

5. Breeders from outside who do not have their main residence in Niedersachsen or Schleswig-Holstein can possibly make use of the administrative assistance in some Bundesländer (it is absolutely necessary that you note this on the “Abfohlmeldung”) if the mare is already registered at our Verband.

6. The white original (cover sheet) has to be sent to our administrative office!
The yellow copy remains with the breeder.
Please do not send a fax but send the original by post.

7. The respective deadline (will also be published in the “Pferdeforum” and here under Dates) for the registration (branding dates) has absolutely to be respected!

8. As to our Articles the Verband will only act for members. Therefore the notification and presentation (registration) of a mare respectively the registration of a foal is obligatory.

9. On the occasion of the early, main and late events breeding catalogues will be issued. On the respective deadline for registration the last notifications for the catalogues are possible (possibly also by phone, the handing-over of the “Abfohlmeldung” is obligatory necessary).
