The Mekka of the Oldenburger mares is the Schlosspark in Rastede where the apprx. 100 best 3-and 4-year-old Oldenburger mares of one age-group are shown and compete for the title winning mare (“Siegerstute”) in the middle of June on the occasion of the awarding of the National Premium Candidate (“Staatsprämienanwärterin”).

A basic requirement for the awarding of a Verband Premium respectively National Premium Candidate for 3-and 4-year-old Oldenburger mares is a complete pedigree of 4 generations as well as a registration of the mother in the main-stud-book.

The selection dates (registration necessary) for the elite mare shows are in April/May every year.

All mares that are qualified to get a premium (also the mares that are already registered and performance tested) have to be presented at one of the selection events. The mares that are not yet registered will be registered firstly into the stud-book and can get at the same time a permission for the mare performance test for selected mares in Vechta.

Mares that are already registered and performance tested can get at the events of the stud-book registration an invitation to the event of the mare performance test. However, they will merely be shown on hand on the ring following the test.

Not until the performance test has been attended successfully with a minimum note of 6,0 and a corresponding total quality the mares will get the Verband Premium respectively the permission to take part at the Elite Mare Show in Rastede following the performance test. The basic requirement for this is that the attending of the mare performance test has been passed with a minimum note of 6,5.

The final nomination for a National Premium Candidate for permitted mares takes place at the event in Rastede. They can only be called National Premium mares if they give birth to a foal within the next four years and this foal is registered at the “Verband der Züchter des Oldenburger Pferdes” or the “Springpferdezuchtverband Oldenburg-International”.

Please note that the fees are due and payable in cash directly at the events.
In case you do not attend to the event of the stud-book-registration despite notification you will get an invoice amounting to 16,- Euro (registration fee and catalogue) in case these amounts are still due.

The organiser is not to be held liable for accidents or damages of all kind that occur to persons, animals or objects. Injuries or sickness of the mares that are presented to the inspection as well as damages to property or accidents that occur during the event are only on the risk of the owner.
