Erfolge 2003

OS was able to continue the previous year's success in its second breeding season 2003. If just one OS filly (by Cordalmé Z-Landadel bred by Heinrich Höffer, Cloppenburg) was the only OS foal to make the final ring at the 2nd German Foal Championships in 2002, five OS foals reached the finals in Lienen in 2003 at the 3rd German Foal Championships.

Quality Has Its Price

At the second Elite Foal Auction, total sales of the 18 foals from Springpferdezuchtverband Oldenburg-International reached 152,700 Euro with an average price of 8,483 Euro. Three foals were sold to customers from abroad.
The pedigrees of these promising, young, future jumpers contained the best there is in jumper breeding:  Contender, Come On, Voltaire, Cordalmé Z, Quidam de Revel, Baloubet du Rouet, Concetto and Landor S on the sire's side and Grandeur, Landadel, Lord Liberty, Grannus, Cor de la Bryère, Calypso I, Quattro B and Pilot on the damsire's side. Highly promising young stallions such as Balou du Rouet and Lovis Corinth also enhanced the auction lot with their off-spring. And this carefully selected group of special youngsters was coveted accordingly: customers from Berlin purchased the top priced colt, Baltic King (by Baloubet du Rouet-Lady´s King, breeder: Wilfried Fleming, Löningen) for 19,000 Euro. The Canadian, Augustin Walch, purchased a Concetto off-spring called Con Famos (dam by Grannus, breeder: Uwe Meyer, Großenkneten) by phone for 14,000 Euro. The colt, Quiche Lorraine (by Quidam de Revel-Landadel, breeder: Michael Schwarz, Wolfhagen) will be raised at Gestüt Dobel in Baden-Württemberg.
The 12th Oldenburg Foal Market which was held in the Reiterwaldstadion in Vechta the day after the auction was also used as an opportunity by many talent hunters to find an OS youngster.
