Stallions
Every year at the beginning of October the young stallions must show their colours in the Oldenburger Pferde Zentrum in Vechta. Year after year out of a stallion collection of apprx. 100 notified 21/2-year-olds the best will be selected. Only the best get the permission for the main licensing. From these licensing-candidates, approximately the tenth part depending on the quality of the age-group, again only a little lot gets the judgment “approved”! Because only “normal” quality with regard to the jumping manner, jumping ability but also the correctness of the fundament and the elasticity of the movements is not enough for the Springpferdezuchtverband Oldenburg-International. Only the strict selection by the licensing commission ensures a good genetic basis. This principle is obliging for the commission however this does not mean that stallions that did not present themselves optimally are excluded forever.
On the contrary in case of corresponding successes a later permission will be newly discussed absolutely flexible. This takes place at an after licensing or stallion approval.
The Springpferdezuchtverband Oldenburg-International attaches great importance to the use of stallions which have proved their own performance in the sport. The free-jumping of stallions can only show a first impression of the quality of the jumping predisposition of stallions. Only the definite successes in sport prove the quality of the stallions.
Thus the breeders of the Springpferdezuchtverband Oldenburg-International have at their disposal beside the licensed young OS-stallions absolute top sport horses like Dobel’s Cento, Sandro Boy, Clinton, Eurocommerce Berlin, Adlantus As and the grandseigneurs Grandeur, For Pleasure and the newcomers Quite Capitol, Chalan, Incolor and the “Bundeschampion” Lazio etc.
In January and February the breeder has the possibility to attend to the stallion presentations in the Oldenburger Pferde Zentrum in Vechta. There the admitted stallions are presented among others. Since the Verband does not want to get in the way of the visions of some breeders the one who can not find a suitable stallion for his mare in the available stallion collection can apply for an individual covering licence.
